Kingsville's Council is focused on creating a long-term vision for the community. This includes ensuring that the Town owns modern building facilities that can meet the community's needs now and in the future.

On March 16, 2023, the Mayor and Council announced the commencement of a facilities building review as a top priority for 2023.

A building facilities review includes analysis of each facility’s general physical condition, anticipated future costs of maintenance and repairs, and evaluated current and future uses.

A consultant was hired and concluded that:

  • The Town of Kingsville owns a large number of older buildings
  • Some of the Town’s buildings are in need of costly repairs and upgrades
  • Some buildings are under-utilized
  • A number of buildings have similar uses
  • The Town does not have some types of facilities to meet community needs
  • The Town has inadequate storage facilities
  • Council Chambers, Town Offices, and Public Works yard are undersized for today’s needs

Kingsville's Committee of the Whole of Council met on July 17, 2023 and voted to approve some of the recommendations. These recommendations and decisions will be considered at the next Council meeting on August 14, 2023.
